Parental Consultation about IPC
We have consulted year 4 parents about the introduction of the International Primary Curriculum in year 4. They kindly completed a questionnaire, at the end of February 2006. The responses were overwhelmingly positive - 97 percent! There were some concerns voiced about dressing up for the significant people entry point day, but most parents said that their children had thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and were very enthusiastic about the curriculum.
Comments from the questionnaries:
"My child is much more enthusiastic this year. He has thoroughly enjoyed all the topics covered so far. This is what teaching and learning should be about at this age".
" The archaeological dig was a great success - he came home very enthused".
" He is very enthusiastic - he talks about the projects all the time - when something reminds him or when he wants to share information about what he has learned".
" Home reseach is positive and does encourage family trips and reseach as a result".
" It helps parents to be more involved with their children".
"She has told us all about the topics! We are kept very well informed and have learnt loads!"
Thank you for your responses - we are very enthusiastic about the new curriculum and are very pleased that you are too!
