There are twelve classes in Key Stage 2 with three parallel unstreamed classes in Years 3-6. The pupils follow Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum.
When they enter Key Stage 2, we are keen to encourage a greater independence amongst the pupils. They have access to excellent learning resources and the opportunity to pursue their own research and independent study using our extensive Junior Reference Library. An Information and Communications Suite is adjacent to the Library and provides invaluable facilities for this area of the school.
Staff in Key Stage 2 liaise regularly with the Early Years Department to ensure progression from Key Stage 1 and with the local secondary school, the Heart of England, to ensure continuity in the transfer to Key Stage 3.
