Balsall Common Primary School have numerous teaching and learning facilities.
Millennium Courtyard

The millennium courtyard contains a number of large planting areas, plus a gazebo. There are conventional seating and also benches and the sundial, sculpted by garden-artist Johnny Woodford. The area is used for group reading and science activities.
 
All pupils from Reception to Year 6 use the ICT Suite at least once a week. There are seventeen networked workstations, with access to a wide range of skills-based and curriculum based software, plus peripherals, printers and a connection to the World Wide Web, sponsored by MSR Avionics.
 
The Multimedia Theatre holds up to 36 pupils for interactive teaching and learning. The teacher has access to a computer, DVD player, video recorder and digital television, all of which project directly onto a huge screen. There is also a computer microscope and music keyboard available. Class teachers, including Nursery book this facility according to their requirements, usually at least once a week.
Structured Play Area
 
The Structured Play Area is situated next to the Key Stage 1 playground. It is used extensively during PE and games lessons throughout the school, and is also very popular after school!
Junior Library
The Junior Library offers an extensive range of fiction, non-fiction and reference books, accessible to the pupils through a computer-operated system. Children scan the barcode of the book and then use electronic fingerprint identification to borrow the title.
Studio
The Studio is used as an alternative large space to the Hall. It is used primarily for dance and drama, but also for assemblies and group work. The school's chess league grand final is played on the huge board with large pieces.
Playing Fields
The playing field area is shared with the Heart of England secondary school. They are used throughout the year for many Games lessons, sports training and matches, and at playtimes weather permitting. Part of the field is flootlit, enabling extra-curricular activities and matches to continue throughout the winter.
Year 6 Quiet Area
Reception and Key Stage 1 have their own individual playgrounds. There are two playgrounds for Key Stage 2. In addition, Year 6 pupils have the privilege of their own exclusive quiet area.
 
The Atrium is the newest facility in the school. It is an electronic glass-roofed building housing the Infant library, nine computer workstations and an interactive whiteboard for whole-class teaching. There are also DVD and video facilities, providing Reception and Key Stage 1 pupils with exciting experiences in a tremendous learning environment.


There is also a trainset running along the top of the library shelfing, enabling pupils to practise their control technology by operating the trains.
