During the course of a school year there are many events in which you and your family are encouraged to take part. Summer Gala Day, Christmas Fayre, quizzes (General Knowledge, Beer, Cheese and Wine, Headteachers and Family), Annual Games, Summer BBQ and the Summer Ball - which has been held for the last few years and run in conjunction with Heart of England PTA. In addition the PTA provides extra-curricular swimming lessons about which you can find out more in a seperate section of this website.
There are a number of ways that you can help us to continue this success
1. Simply by attending the events that the PTA organise. We aim to provide good quality events at all times, and have usually have a great deal of fun along the way.
2. Helping to run an event, whether by assisting on a stall at Christmas Fayre/ Gala Day or by giving an hour of your time through our timebank scheme (see the leaflet stand in the school reception for further details)
3. Join the main committee. The committee is elected annually at the AGM and we meet approximately once a month. If you would like to discuss this further then please feel free to email chairman Ian (ianbcpspta@gmail.com ) or leave a note in the Black PTA box in the school reception area.
4. If you own or manage a business then we produce two programmes a year to coincide with Gala Day and Christmas Fayre in which we would be delighted to advertise your business. Alternatively, if you feel able to sponsor an event then we would love to hear from you. Please contact Ian as above for further details.
Our most recent major project was the Atrium towards which the PTA gave around £55000, and I am sure you will agree provides a fantastic additional facility for our children. We have also refurbished the library area and purchased a huge number of new books within these areas. We replaced the surface of the adventure playground - by both funding it and providing the physical contribution to lay the surface. Additionally, the PTA helped to fund the successful school radio station. We also regularly help to offset the cost of school trips and Design and Technology materials as well as providing a number of smaller extras, such as books, storage solutions, Christmas Decorations and a contribution to the information screens dotted around the school.
Please continue to support us in our events and activities as quite simply we couldn't raise the sums that we do without your help. Remember that this is OUR PTA and it is up to us what we make of it.
In the longer term we aim to move away from paper and make greater use of parent mail, but for the time being we will continue to issue letters as well. Please look out for the orange coloured paper in your childrens school bag as all of our correspondence is printed on this brightly coloured paper!
