CHESS TOURNAMENT 2004
The Chess tournament will take place on Friday the 10th June in the Studio and will last all day.
It will involve 64 children from years 4 to 6.
It is a ‘Swiss’ tournament where everybody plays six games. At first these games are played randomly but as the tournament progresses you will be playing children who won the same number of games (or nearly the same.) Each chess board will have a number and the aim is to get to the low number boards. The winner after six rounds will come from board number one.
Each game lasts 30 minutes and if you haven’t finished after the time runs out a referee will judge the result of the game.
You will need to bring a book or small game to amuse yourself between games.
I will need to borrow some chess sets so please let me know if you can bring one in.
